In their inaugural year competing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), La Familia made history, bringing together some of the most beloved Kentucky basketball alumni to represent the Big Blue Nation on a national stage. Built on the brotherhood and legacy of Kentucky basketball, La Familia was more than just a team—it was a movement, uniting fans and former Wildcats under one banner in pursuit of the $1 million prize.

From the moment the roster was announced, excitement surrounded La Familia’s debut. Led by a management team featuring Twany Beckham, Sam Malone, and Brittany Harris, the squad embodied Kentucky’s rich basketball tradition and the passion of its fan base. Beckham, who was named TBT’s General Manager of the Year in 2023, played a crucial role in assembling a roster filled with talent and experience. Malone, known for his leadership on and off the court, helped solidify the team’s foundation, while Harris, leveraging her marketing expertise, ensured that La Familia’s presence extended beyond the court and into the hearts of fans worldwide.

La Familia didn’t just show up—they made an impact. With dominant performances in the Lexington Regional, they thrilled the home crowd at Rupp Arena and showcased the same intensity and grit that Kentucky basketball is known for.
